Souls

• The first entities that lived in the altered lands
• The earliest souls were humans who were completely forgotten about, and thus were barred from their respective afterlives
• Later on, souls that either just spawned in like chimera, or souls that were the result of large amounts of energy loss that were given a soul started appearing
• Souls that spawn in or a derivative of other beings represent individual pieces of information given large amounts of attention, but not enough (or not enough of a community) to warrant becoming a chimera
• They’re memes, basically
• Because of this they’re capable of becoming chimera
• Unlike pretty much every other species, souls are capable of reproduction and are capable of carrying and siring children
• Theres a loooot of them, they’re the most populous species in the altered lands
• They don’t have much consistency in terms of appearance, but former humans look nothing like their former self, with their appearance usually being influenced by their beliefs and what they did when they were alive
• Nonhuman souls that were the result of another being’s energy being inhabited by a soul very heavily resemble the being their energy came from
